Description	:	John Harvey White Jr. completed his earthly journey and claimed the promise of the Resurrection on Saturday, September 16th. Born May 23, 1952 John was the second of four children, first son to John Harvey White and Charlotte Fitzgerald White. John retired last year after 20 years as a water plant operator with the Nelson County Service Authority. He had a quick wit and a keen eye. Read More	John Harvey White Jr. completed his earthly journey and claimed the promise of the Resurrection on Saturday, September 16th. Born May 23, 1952 John was the second of four children, first son to John Harvey White and Charlotte Fitzgerald White. John retired last year after 20 years as a water plant operator with the Nelson County Service Authority. He had a quick wit and a keen eye. Laughing was his favorite: each joke or planned surprise was accompanied by a mischievous giggle that will be forever missed. Though he generally preferred to stay home with a good book and a bag of chocolates, John was also a loving man who quietly donated money to charities and sent cards to those who had touched his heart with their struggles. He loved animals and cared for so many of them over the years. And Christmas - oh, how John adored it- his excitement alone made it a magical time for everyone around him. But most of all, John had a fierce and deep abiding love for his family. In death, John follows his father John, mother Charlotte and brother Stephen. He is survived by sister Leigh Harvey (Mac), sister Cynthia Angus, Stephen's wife Linda White, niece Rebecca Blanks (Michael), nephew Brandon Campbell, niece Nicole Campbell, and great nephews/niece John Michael, Jeremiah, and Cecelia Rose. All are welcome to attend a graveside service, prepared by Wells/Sheffield Funeral Chapel and ministered by Chaplain Miriam Dakin at the old family farm at the top of the hill at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 20th. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Almost Home Pet Adoption Center, 29 Stagebridge Road, Lovingston, VA 22949.
