Description	:	Mr. John H. Davy, a well-known and highly respected citizen of Crisfield, died from typhoid fever a few minutes after reaching the General & Marine Hospital, on Tuesday last. Mr. Davy was 60 years of age and was born at the old Davy farm, near Ward's crossing, this city. His mother, Mrs. Margaret Davy, preceded him in death only a few months. Mr. Davy was 60 years of age and was born at the old Davy farm, near Ward's crossing, this city. His mother, Mrs. Margaret Davy, preceded him in death only a few months. The deceased was President of Crisfield Nest of Owls as well as a prominent member of the Odd Fellows, Knights of Pythias, Jr. O.U.A.M. Crisfield Grange, Rebekas and Patriotic Sons of America. Funeral services were held from the Baptist church, of which he was a member, at 2.30 o'clock Thursday afternoon, with Rev. Wm. H. Stewart, assisted by Rev. J.S. Wharton, officiating. Interment was in the Crisfield cemetery, the burial services being in charge of the Crisfield Owls. The Crisfield Times, Crisfield, Maryland, Saturday morning, August 25, 1917, p. 4 John H. Davy passed away on 21 Aug 1917 at Crisfield, Maryland, aged 60 years. His parents were listed as William Davy and Margaret Sterling Davy. John was single and a house painter by profession.
