Description	:	John Crays was born in Indiana Sept. 16, 1828, and died in Tobias, Neb, February 23, 1905. After a lingering illness of more than two years of bronchil trouble. He moved with his parents to Illinois when he was two years old here he grew to manhood. He was married in 1853 to Miss Mary Jane Tosh in Carlinsville, Ill. Read More	John Crays was born in Indiana Sept. 16, 1828, and died in Tobias, Neb, February 23, 1905. After a lingering illness of more than two years of bronchil trouble. He moved with his parents to Illinois when he was two years old here he grew to manhood. He was married in 1853 to Miss Mary Jane Tosh in Carlinsville, Ill. In the year 1885 the family moved to Wilber, Nebr, where they spent five years. In 1890 the family moved onto their farm near Atlanta Center in Saline County, where they have lived for fifteen years when a few months ago they sold the farm and moved to Tobias, Neb. In early live he embraced religion, and united with the M. E. Church, on coming to Nebraska he united with the church of God at Atlanta Center in which communion he passed to his reward above. He leaves behind a wife an ten children, three sons and seven daughters who mourn their loss but feel it is his gain as he has gone where suffering and sighing will be no more. The funeral services were conducted by the ----- M church from the home in Tobias. The beautiful hymns were rendered by the M. E. choir. The body was laid to rest in the cemetery ----. ---- friends attended the funeral. The children present were as follows: Mrs. G. M. Dority and Mr. J. W. Crays of Ohiowa, Mrs. C. J. Pike of Plymouth, Mrs. S. G. Lair and Ida Courtwright, Wilber, Mrs. W. F. Nevins, Fairfield, Mrs. Frank Osborne and daughter, Crete, Mr. Chas and Miss Laura and Mark Crays, Tobias. Those absent were Mrs. Chas Harding, Furnace County and Mrs. Frank Osborne, Crete. Tobias Express --- March 3, 1905
