Crowley Passed Away at Home in Lemars J. Crowley died at his home in Lemars, Iowa at 1 o'clock a. m., April 16th. Complication of diseases was the cause of his death. He would have been 54 years and 11 months old had he lived until the next day. Mr. Crowley was born May 17, 1868, in Garryowen, Jackson county, Iowa. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Matt. Crowley. His wife and he went to Plymouth county in 1903, settling on a farm in Stanton township. They lived on this farm for ten years, then moved to Lemars. For the last nine years his wife and he had been making their home on Central avenue, in Lemars. Those who survive him are his wife, Mrs. Amy Keenan Crowley; Matt Crowley, a twin brother; Mike Crowley Mrs. John Brennan and Mrs. Matt Brennen, sisters; and Miss Anna Crowley, a sister; all living in Lemars, Mrs. Nellie Wallace, of Council Bluffs, and Jeremiah and Daniel Crowley, of Dubuque. The funeral was held Wednesday, April 18th, at 10 o'clock at the St. Joseph's church in Lincoln township, and burial took place in the Lincoln township cemetery. Of him a Lemars newspaper says J. J. Crowley was well liked by his friends and the people who know him. He was an acitive man in church affairs and was a great booster in the welfare of the community.
