He married Maria Angelina Rheinfrank March 27, 1848 at Dayton, OH. They traveled by covered wagon with their four children in 1856 from Ohio to Nebraska and settled in Cass County near Mynard. In later years, the log cabin that they lived in was moved to a spot on East Main St., Plattsmouth, NE. and is still there.
