Description	:	The death of Joseph Henry Cook, 77, last of the large family of Joseph and Mary Cook, pioneer settlers of Cass County, occurred Saturday at his home in Plattsmouth following a stroke suffered Friday night and from the effects of which he had failed to rally. Read More	The death of Joseph Henry Cook, 77, last of the large family of Joseph and Mary Cook, pioneer settlers of Cass County, occurred Saturday at his home in Plattsmouth following a stroke suffered Friday night and from the effects of which he had failed to rally. Mr. Cook was the youngest of a family of seven brothers and five sisters and was born at the farm home near Plattsmouth on February 16, 1872, and has made his home in this community for his lifetime, a man who was held in the highest esteem by those who have the privilege of his acquaintance. When seventeen years of age Mr. Cook was received into the United Brethren church near this city and has continued as a member of that faith. Mr. Cook was largely engaged in farming and in the last years has made his home in Plattsmouth. There is surviving his passing, a daughter, Mrs. Nita Kroll, of Omah, and a son, Francis Cook of this city; two grandchildren, Beth Kroll of Omaha and Francis Lynn Cook of Plattsmouth. There are a very large number of nieces and nephews, as well as three step sons and one step daughter, surviving. Mr. Cook was twice married, both of his wives having preceded him in death. The body was taken to the Caldwell funeral home at 7th and Avenue B, where services will be held on Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 with the burial at Horning cemetery. Rev. George Swiney, pastor of the First Christian church will have charge of the service.
