Description	:	John was the son of John Kirk and Anne Bradley. He had consumption. Sept 14, 1888 - Carroll Sentinel - John Kirk, a member ot our well known Kirk family, who has been a sufferer from consumption for three or four years, died very suddenly in Omaha, Tuesday, at the Arcade hotel. Deceased was in the employ of N.B. Falconer, a dry goods merchant at Omaha, as chief clerk for seven years. Deceased was in the employ of N.B. Falconer, a dry goods merchant at Omaha, as chief clerk for seven years. Mr. Kirk left Falconer's about two years ago, on account of failing health, and removed to San Antonio, Texas, with the hope of regaining his vigor and strength, but instead of finding relief he kept growing worse. He was on his way home to Carroll when the grim messenger of death overtook him, but kind friends, among whom was his old employer, Mr. Falconer, were with him when he expired. His brothers left here Tuesday afternoon to care for the remains, and arrived here Wednesday afternoon with the body, being escorted to the transfer at Council Bluffs by a large number, of his old friends. Never has a larger funeral procession left our depot. The remains were taken to St. Joseph's church, and from thence to the Catholic burying grounds. Mr. Kirk was a single man, 33 years old, and beloved by all who knew him. The bereaved family have the sympathy of the entire community.
