Description	:	John Slunecka, Jr. was born to John and Anna (Kindle) Slunecka. He and his brother, Fred, married twin sisters, Tillie and Minnie (Schlechter), daughters of Anton and Mathilda (Schaefers) Schlechter, June 5, 1924 at St. Liborius Catholic Church in Polo, SD. It was the first wedding in the church following its completion. After a honeymoon together, the four moved to their new farm in western Campbell township in Hand County, where they all lived together in a small frame house and were inseparable for the next 22 years. He and his brother, Fred, married twin sisters, Tillie and Minnie (Schlechter), daughters of Anton and Mathilda (Schaefers) Schlechter, June 5, 1924 at St. Liborius Catholic Church in Polo, SD. They raised five children between them. John and Tillie had two sons, Duane, 1933 and Robert, 1936. A division of labor was established, and the farm prospered. In 1946, Fred died, and Minnie and their three daughters, Arlene, Wanelda, and Audrey, moved to Miller. John and Tillie continued the farm operation until John's death in 1970. - - - Tillie moved to Miller in 1987. Duane and Robert continued the tradition of joint farming and ranching, with Robert and his wife, Doris (Morris) on the family farm in Campbell township, and Duane and his wife, Barbara (Bell) on their farm in western Alden township. *From family bio in Polo Memories 1881-1989.
