Becker and Ethel (Franklin) Becker. On August 29, 1939, he married Lorena Christopherson Becker in Le Mars. As a boy he played in a dance band with his father. He was a longtime farmer, continuing until retiring in Le Mars six years ago. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. Survivors include his wife, Lorena, a daughter, Linda and her husband, George Siggins, Ripon, Calif.; two sons, John and his wife, Diane Becker, Le Mars; Jay and his wife, Kim Becker, Le Mars; a sister, Evelyn Sitzmann, Kingsley; seven grandchildren, Aaron Becker, Justin Becker, Corey Becker, Matthew Becker, Kelli Becker, Sara Siggins and Sally Siggins. Mr. Becker was born Feb. 6, 1916, in Union Township, the son of John E. and Ethel (Franklin) Becker. As a boy, he played in a band with his father for dances. On Aug. 29, 1939, he married Lorena Christopherson at Le Mars. He farmed in the Le Mars area until six years ago, when he retired. Mr. Becker was a member of St. John's American Lutheran Church. Survivors include his wife; a daughter and her husband, Linda and George Siggins, of Ripon, Calif.; two sons and their wives, John and Dianne Becker and Jay and Kim Becker, all of Le Mars; a sister, Evelyn Sitzmann, of Kingsley, Iowa; and seven grandchildren, Aaron, Justin, Corey, Matthew, and Kelli Becker, and Sara and Sally Siggins.
