Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery, Aurora. Mr. Ennis died Sunday, Dec. 22, 1996, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. He was born Sept. 5, 1918, at Tupelo, Ark. He grew up there and joined the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1937. In 1941, he joined the Army and served in World War II and the Korean War. He was a sergeant first class. He retired from the Army in 1962. He moved to Lawrence from Chanute in 1984 and was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. He married Laura Chaput on March 1, 1949, in Manhattan. She died Oct. 3, 1992. Survivors include a stepdaughter, Maxine Wright, Lawrence; a half brother, Kenneth Marlor, Newport, Ark.; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, which is handling arrangements.
