Zerbe's Death The sad news of the death of him, who has been well and favorably known in the community for many years, was conveyed here Sunday, and from what we can learn of the facts we are justified in saying it was an apoplectic fit that caused his death. He was a dweller in the house with his son-in-law, William Burge, one and a half miles South of Bertram, Linn county. Zerbe's Death The sad news of the death of him, who has been well and favorably known in the community for many years, was conveyed here Sunday, and from what we can learn of the facts we are justified in saying it was an apoplectic fit that caused his death. He was a dweller in the house with his son-in-law, William Burge, one and a half miles South of Bertram, Linn county. He went to bed Saturday evening after eating a hearty supper and apparently in as good health as ever; in the morning his lifeless body was found in bed, the bedding only disturbed where he lay. The deceased was born in Schuylkill, Pennsylvania, October 20 1820, and at the time of his death lacked but one day of being sixty-four years of age. He was married in the county where he was born, removed to this State twenty-seven years ago. The first farm he purchased was in this county, and what is known as the Thomas Ochey farm in Masons Grove. He leaves three brothers, one sister and six children, to mourn his untimely death. His wife preceded his to that "bourne from which no traveler returns" some months since. He lived an active and useful life, a man that had many warm friends and but few enemies, a kind neighbor and a faithful friend; his death is mourned by many. his remains were brought to this place for interment and the large concourse of friends that followed the courtege to its last resting place is but a slight token of the esteem n which he was held by the community. May his last sleep be one of peace.
