I, John McQuillin, of the township of Vermillion, County of Ashland and State of Ohio, being of sound and disposing mind and memory Do make, Publish and declare this my Last Will and Testament hereby revoking and making null and void all other Last Wills and Testaments by me made heretofore. First: My Will is that all my just debts and funeral expenses shall be paid out of my Estate, as soon after my decease as shall be found convenient. Second: I give, devise and bequeath to my beloved wife, in lieu of her dower, the farm on which we now reside situated in Vermilion Township, Ashland County State of Ohio, to live in during her natural life and to receive out of the proceeds, or rental thereof, the sum of One Hundred and fifty dollars each and every year during her natural life. And whoever farms or rents the farm, to furnish my wife with what wheat she may need for herself and family. Also, whatever firewood she may need delivered at the house. I further devise and bequeath to my wife everything in the house, that is everything belonging in the house during her life. And the interest of six hundred dollars, the said six hundred dollars to be placed on interest and the interest thereof to be paid to her annually. And further, if the above bequeaths should be formed insufficient to supply my wife's needs, I desire that she be furnished out of the balance of the proceeds of the farm whatever sum may be sufficient to keep her comfortably. At the death of my said wife, the real Estate aforesaid, I give and devise to my five children to wit: Wesley McQuillin, Mary Romine, Samuel McQuillin, John McQuillin and Elison McQuillin, and their heirs, the same to be divided between them equal. If however, either of my children should die before the decease of my said wife, leaving no children living at the decease of my said wife, then the share of said property above devised to such deceased child is hereby devised and bequeathed to the balance of my children and their heirs. I further will that the balance of the income of the farm after my wife is supplied as heretofore bequeathed, be equally divided between my children each year. It is my Will that there be erected at the grave of my Father a tombstone, exact size and style of the one now at my mother's grave. Also that there by erected at the grave of myself and wife Fannie a Tombstone or Tombstones not exceeding twenty-five dollars each, or if there should be but one put up for both graves then not to exceed fifty dollars. I do hereby nominate and appoint Wesley McQuillin and H. Butcher executors of this my last Will and Testament, hereby authorizing and empowering them to compromise, adjust, release and discharge in such manner as they may deem proper, the debts and claims due me. And I hereby power them to dispose of my property at private or public sale as they may see most proper. In testimony hereof I hereunto set my hand and seal this first day of January in the year 1881. John McQuillin (his mark).
