Jr. Age 74, of Hamilton passed away in his residence on Tuesday, October 11, 2005 at 2:05 a.m. He was born in Hamilton on September 28, 1931 the son of John and Violet (Bartel) Hudek. John was a member of St. Peter in Chains Catholic Church, a member of the Parish Council, Board of Education and PTA President, a 1949 graduate of Hamilton Catholic High School, a member of the FOP Lodge #38, a veteran of the Koran Conflict with the United States Army from 1951 to 1954, and was employed as a police officer with the City of Hamilton for 27 years, retiring in 1985. On October 11, 1958 in Hamilton he was married to Mary Anne Livernois. He is survived by his wife, Mary Anne Hudek of Hamilton; two sons, John (Herma) Hudek of Somerville and James (Mary Beth) Hudek of Middletown; four daughters, Dr. Judith (Dr. Michael) DDS Hudek-Reilly of Fox River Grove, Illinois, Jo Anne (Nicholas) Dole of Middletown, Jeanette (Mark) Flum of Hamilton, and Julia (Ken) Walker of Columbus, Ohio; two sisters, Mary Hartleb and Louise Hudek, both of Hamilton; also by eleven grandchildren, Linda, Elizabeth, Josh, Joseph, Mary Kate, Thomas, Daniel, Rachel, Sarah, Abby, and Amy. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Joseph Hudek in 1984. Prayers will be held at the Brown Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Saturday, October 15, 2005 at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Peter in Chains Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. with Fr. George Klein, Celebrant. Burial will be in St. Stephen's Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Published in Journal-News on Oct. 13, 2005
