Description	:	From old newspaper clipping: John M Juhl, 88, died December 26 at Schoitz Memorial Hospital, Waterloo, after a lingering illness. Mr Juhl, the eldest son of Nis and Kristina Mortsen Juhl was born December 24, 1890 in Angershor, SchleswigHolstein, Denmark, and was baptized into the Lutheran faith. His family immigrated to the Coulter, IA area in 1901 where they engaged in farming. In 1903 they moved to the Nashua-Plainfield area where he spent his life farming. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Leah who died five years ago; one sister, Anna; and by two brothers, Mike and Anton. Mr Juhl is survived by four children; Mrs Dale (Lorraine) Maupen of Mason City, Eugene Juhl of Hudson, Mrs Kenneth (Harriet) Blockhus of Elgin, and Mrs Eldon (Joan) Kratcher of Waverly; 11 grandchildren and one foster grandson. Also surviving are four brothers, Anker Juhl of Waverly, Chris Juhl of Plainfield, Richard Juhl of Eldora, and Jake Juhl of Waverly.
