Description	:	Oscar Bagley of the northwestern corner of Taylor county, a former resident of Page county, and a highly respected and esteemed citizen, died Saturday after only 26 hours' illness at the home of W.S. Read More	Oscar Bagley of the northwestern corner of Taylor county, a former resident of Page county, and a highly respected and esteemed citizen, died Saturday after only 26 hours' illness at the home of W.S. Day, in the northwest corner of Valley township, Page county. Mr Bagley was a carpenter by occupation and was engaged in rebuilding the house of Mr Day. He was taken ill Friday noon and the next morning thought of going to Villisca with Mr Day, to consult a physician, but when Mr Day was ready to drive to town, said he was unable to go. Mr Day made the trip to Villisca hurriedly and returned with Dr Jackson, who, although finding Mr Bagley sitting up said he could do nothing for him, and that his time was short. The illness, the doctor reported, resembled cholera infantum more than anything else. Death came at 2 pm. The deceased was 53 years and 14 days old, was a native of Canada, and had a residence of from 16 to 20 years in Page county, having resided in Douglas and Valley townships. At the time of his death his home was about two miles over the Taylor county line, near the northwestern corner of that county, where he lived on his farm. His wife and daughter were sent for, and came to what had so soon been changed to a house of mourning. Mrs Bagley the widow is the daughter of Mrs E. Newsam of Douglas township, Page county, and the surviving daughter of Mr Bagley is 14 years of age. The deceased was a member of the Christian church. The funeral was held Sunday at 3 pm at the Day home, conducted by Reverends David Dodds of Hepburn and Brockett of Tarkio, Mo. The deceased died a member in good standing of the Masonic fraternity, and was buried with Masonic honors, 50 or 60 Masons attending from Villisca and Red Oak.
