John Peter Bartosh, son of Michael and Anna Bartosh, was born Dec. 16, 1870 at Spillville. In 1874 he came with his parents to Pocahontas county and they located in Center township. He united in marriage with Anna Sinek in 1894. Five children were born to this union, John dying in infancy. Mrs. Bartosh died in 1910. On Feb. 3, 1913 he was united in marriage to Mrs. Antonia Ott. To this union one child was born. Mr. Bartosh was a member of SS. Peter and Paul's church. He was a director and secretary of the local Farmer's Co-op. Co. and an assessor for many years. Survivors include his wife and six children, Mrs. Joe Sernett (Agnes); Alice of Chicago, Ill.; Albert of Webster City; Mrs. Ray Behrendsen, (Lucy) of Gilmore City; Wesley Ott and John A. Bartosh of this place, one brother, W.J. Bartosh and a sister, Mrs. Frank Payer of Hinkley, Calif., 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Contributed by Teresa, #49560808
