Stottlemyer, 68, of Sabillasville, died Friday, Jan. 31, at his residence. He was the husband of Nancy Smith Stottlemyer. Born Aug. 11, 1934, in Sabillasville, formerly known as Lantz, he was the son of the late Leister Sr. and Minnie Eyler Stottlemyer. Mr. Stottlemyer was a member of Mount Zion Methodist Church. He served in the U.S. Army, from 1954 to 1956. He was employed for 34 years as a press operator for Moore Business Forms in Thurmont. Mr. Stottlemyer was a member of the American Legion Post 168 and the AMVETS of Thurmont. He loved fishing, gardening, camping and spending time with his grandchildren. Surviving in addition to his wife are daughters, Cynthia Ecker and husband Mark of Smithsburg, and Sharon Streb and husband Joseph of Frederick; son, Robert Stottlemyer and wife Rueyann of Sabillasville; four grandchildren, Benjamin and Christopher Ecker, and Jessica and Eliza Stottlemyer; brothers and sisters, Leister Stottlemyer Jr. and wife Maryann of Smithsburg, Mary Buhrman of Waynesboro, Pa., Anna Weikert of Blue Ridge Summit, Pa., Katherine Brown and husband Cyrus of Fairfield, Pa., Martha Schaffer and husband Darwin of Waynesboro, Pa., Dorothy Buhrman and husband Calvin of Sabillasville, James Stottlemyer and wife Bonnie of Sabillasville, and Kenneth Stottlemyer and wife Joyce of Sabillasville; sister-in-law, Faye Stottlemyer of West Virginia; uncle, Bill Eyler and wife Catherine; and many nieces and nephews. He also will be remembered by friend, C. Patrick Lowry, and also the Men's Vineyard Via de Cristo 9. He was preceded in death by a brother, Andrew Stottlemyer. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 3, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 E. Main St., Thurmont, where the family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4, at Germantown Bethel Church of God, 16924 Raven Rock Road, Cascade. The Rev. Tony Hardcastle will officiate. Interment will be in Germantown Bethel Church of God Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Frederick County, P.O. Box 1799, Frederick, Md. 21701, or to the American Cancer Society, 1393 Progress Way, Suite 908, Eldersburg, Md. 21784.
