Read More	Glasco Sun, Apr. 8, 1910, page 3: OBITUARY OF JOHN S. PRATT Mr. John S. Pratt was born in Fayette County, Pa., Sept. 10, 1827. He was married to Hannah W. Coldren, Jan. 20, 1857. Ten children were born to them, nine of whom are living; viz: Enos C., William E., Mrs. Mary Kelly, Mrs. Anna Hare, Jennie, George, Calvin (deceased), Jesse, Edd and Oliver. Two are living in Pennsylvania and the rest in Kansas. He moved with his family to Glasco, Kansas in 1886. His wife died Nov. 30, 1903, and since that time he has made his home with his son Jesse. Shortly before the age of thirty, he united with the Cumberland Presbyterian Church, and after moving to Glasco he united with the Glasco Presbyterian Church, where he remained in good standing until the day of his death. He was a Ruling Elder of the Glasco church most all the time while a member. The funeral services were held at the Glasco Presbyterian church on Sunday afternoon at two o'clock, the pastor, S.B. Lucas, officiating. The children and the relatives have the sympathy of all. During his long residence here Mr. Pratt lived a model life. If we, who saw it, pattern after his example, we may feel pretty certain that the community will be better for our having lived in it. A pure, modest life, attention given to one's family and the correct raising of it, justice to neighbor and friend, is the best record one may leave behind.
