Description	:	Services for John T. Moede Funeral services for John T. Moede were conducted Friday afternoon from the First Methodist church, with the Rev. Leslie A. Moore in charge. Casketbearers were Harry Barrow, B. F. Copley, Ernest Lammers, A. H. Meyer, Hiram Dunn and B. J. Tupper. Glen Mountford and Mrs. Eda Baker sang "Nearer My God to Thee" and "City Four Square," with Mrs. N. B. Bush playing their accompaniment. Interment was made in the Blue Hill cemetery. John T. Moede, son of William and Augusta Moede, was born near Red Cloud, Nebraska, on June 17, 1883, and passed away at Wheatland, Wyoming, November 17, 1952, at the age of 69 years and five months. He lived in Webster county until 1912 when he moved to Idaho where he resided for eight years. He then returned to Webster county were he continued farming until 1950 when he moved to a farm near Wheatland, Wyoming. He was confirmed in the Lutheran Church when he was 14 years of age. He held to this faith until his death. On June 3, 1912 he was married to Minnie Gurney at Malad City, Idaho. To this union three children were born. Mr. Moede was a farmer all of his life. He was industrious, friendly and enjoyed his neighbors. He was a loving and kind husband and father. He leaves in his going, his wife, two sons, William of Laramie, Wyoming, and Richard, now in the armed service, stationed in Japan; one daughter, Erma at home; three sisters, Mrs. Emma Bliss of Red Cloud, Mrs. Bertha Topham of Cartersville, Georgia, and Mrs. Tillie Stevens of Red Cloud; four brothers, Harry of Lincoln, Max of Red Cloud, Chas of Laramie, Wyoming, and Fred of Santa Ana, California. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, two sisters and one brother. His going takes another pioneer, a good farmer and neighbor and a loving husband, father and brother. Now the labourer's task is o'er; Now the battle day is past; Now upon the farther shore Lands the voyager at last. Father, in thy gracious keeping Leave we now Thy servant sleeping.
