Description	:	John Thomas Dodd was born May 9, 1834 and died June 21, 1913. Having reached the age of 79 years, 1 month and 11 days. He was born in Indiana and moved to Iowa with his parents when a boy, and was united in marriage a few years later with Miss Matilda Harris and lived in Iowa with the exception of 7 years spent in Missouri, moving back to Iowa until the family came to Nebraska in 1887. There were four children born, two boys and two girls, the oldest boy dying at the age of 16, the others are living... Read More	John Thomas Dodd was born May 9, 1834 and died June 21, 1913. Having reached the age of 79 years, 1 month and 11 days. He was born in Indiana and moved to Iowa with his parents when a boy, and was united in marriage a few years later with Miss Matilda Harris and lived in Iowa with the exception of 7 years spent in Missouri, moving back to Iowa until the family came to Nebraska in 1887. There were four children born, two boys and two girls, the oldest boy dying at the age of 16, the others are living and are Mrs. C. A. Pence of Cairo, Mrs. A. C. Thayer of Dannebrog, and H. C. Dodd of Boulder, Colorado. Besides his children he is survived by five brothers three sisters, nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He united with the M. E. church in 1893 and has been a staunch member of the church and an upright Christian ever since. Mr. Dodd was a good man, quiet and peaceable and was very highly respected by his many friends. His health had been poorly for some time and the end was not unexpected. We join many friends in extending sympahy to the family and can truly say that here is another good man gone to an eternal rest that was well eserved.
