Description	:	The death of Tommy Roberts, occurring at his hometown of Bethany Friday afternoon from a sudden heart attack, brought sadness to his many friends here where he formerly resided with his parents, the late Henry and Lizzie Saunders Roberts. The attack came suddenly while he was driving his car around the square and he slumped over the wheel, causing the car to strike three cars parked there. The attack came suddenly while he was driving his car around the square and he slumped over the wheel, causing the car to strike three cars parked there. Tommy was taken to the hospital but passed away soon after arrival. The body was taken to the Noble Funeral home where final rites were held at 2 p. m. Sunday, with Elders F. J. Sharp and Thomas Freeman conducting. Singing was by Mr. and Mrs. Elden Kariker and daughter Eldonna, with Mrs. Kariker at the piano. The members of the I.O.O.F. took charge of the services at the graveside in Rose Hill cemetery, Lamoni, where interment was made. It is in this beautiful city of the dead that his parents are buried. Those carrying the casket were Luther Youngs, J. I. Marshall, Marvin Rogers, Russell Kennedy, Nell Bullock, and Lee Reynolds. He was 58 years of age and no near relatives survive him. Two cousins, Miss Clara Nichols and Mrs. Harry Shippy of Independence attended the services. The writer recalls Tommy as a neighbor boy who attended school with our children at Lone Star and he was ever a well-behaved lad and grew into a good citizen, well respected by all in his hometown of Bethany.
