Description	:	OGG, JOHN V.—Mr. and Mrs. Claude Ogg of Momence Township received a message Monday announcing the death of their son, John V. Ogg, at his home at Norcross, Minn. The body reached Geneva yesterday. Funeral services are being held this Thursday afternoon at the Geneva Methodist Church, Rev. W. H. Shoaf officiating. Interment will be in the Geneva Cemetery. Further reference will be made. The Nebraska Signal 23 August 1934 page 10. ALSO: John Vincent, the oldest son of Claude and Ethel Ogg, was born near Warroad, Minn., October 11, 1906. He passed away at the Ah-Gwan-Ching Sanatorium Minneapolis, August 20, 1934, at the age of 27 years, 10 months and 9 days. He came to Fillmore County, Nebraska, with his parents at the age of three. Here he grew to manhood. He obtained his schooling in Fillmore County, taking the first eight grades in District 32 and completing his high school course at Geneva, graduating with the class of 1924. Since 1926 he has been at Norcross, Minn., where he married Miss Lucile Mills December 24, 1930. A daughter, Joan Lois, came to bless the union. John made a host of friends in his new home and was highly respected and beloved by all who knew him. About four months ago he became seriously ill and gradually grew worse and worse though loved ones, doctors and nurses aided him in every way possible in his brave fight, it all proved futile. He was a patient sufferer and greatly endeared himself to the hospital staff by his uncomplaining, cheerful attitude. He was a Christian and his Bible was his constant companion while he was in the hospital. His passing breaks up a perfect home, leaving to mourn, his wife and baby; his father and mother; ten brothers and sisters as follows: Mrs. Jeanne Grob, Gerald, Mo.; Mrs. Hester Stradly, Aurora, Neb.; Mrs. Joyce Krause, Shickley, Neb.; Mrs. Elaine Krause, Grafton, Neb.; Ray Ogg, Norcross, Minn.; Duane Ogg, Casper, Wyo.; and Thelma, Betty, Glenn and Paul Ogg; Shickley and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. B. B. Ogg. One sister, Ethel May preceded him in death. His passing is a great sorrow to those loved ones and to his many friends, and leaves a large vacancy in the home and community. Deep sympathy is felt by a large circle of neighbors and friends for the sorrowing ones. Funeral services were conducted at the Geneva Methodist Church at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, August 23, by the pastor, Rev. W. H. Shoaf. One large spray of gladiolas was from his Norcross friends. The following members of the class of 1924 were pallbearers: John Gewacke, Anthony Katheiser, Roland Propst, John Pittard, Earnest Wilson and Archie Anderson. Burial was in the Geneva Cemetery. Mr.and Mrs. Ira Mills of Norcross, parents of the wife of the deceased were present at the service. The Nebraska Signal 30 August 1934 front page.
