Description	:	Funeral services for J. W. Finch were held Tuesday, May 8th at one o'clock at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Orchard and at two o'clock at the Venus church with Rev. Charles Phipps officiating. The Strope Singers sang "In the Garden" and "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere". Pallbearers were Farnk Shaler, C. J. Schroth, Don Huston, Vincent Rayburn, Sidney Faulhaber, and Glenn Waring. Burial was in the Enterprise Cemetery. Finch, son of Orrin and Sarah Finch, was born May 23, 1882 at Naperville, IL and passed away at the O'Neill hospital May 6, 1951, at the age of 68 years, 11 months and 13 days. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Alta; two sons, J.W. Jr. of Orchard and Clarence of Venus; one daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Pauline) Waring of Page;; nine grandchildren and one great grandchild. Also four brothers, Arthur of Wallerville, OR; Frank of Crawford, NE; O.S. of Fullerton NE; and Bryan of Middlebranch; two sisters, Mrs. Maggie Fish, Buhl ID, and Mrs. Irene Smith, Albion NE. On September 20, 1915, he was united in marriage to Alta Wolfe of Cedar Rapids NE. For eighteen years after their marriage they lived on farms. In the fall of 1933 they purchased the Middlebranch Store which he continued to operate until his death. Relatives from a distance attending the services were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Finch from Crawford NE; Mr. and Mrs. O.S. Finch of Fullerton NE; Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Smith, Albion NE; MR. and Mrs. John Caskey and Mr. and Mrs. Dale Caskey and daughter of Rose NE; Mr. and Mrs. Vatl Pichler and Mrs. Lou Pichler of Grand Island NE; Mrs. Clyde Allison and Miss Shirley Rathburn and Mrs. Mearl Guck of Cedar Rapids; Mrs. William Kobe; Mr. and Mrs. James Wolfe and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Rathburn of Belgrade, and Maurice Waring of Omaha NE.
