Born of Indian heritage, he inherited the call of the hunter and the sea. His great-grandfather gave to the Ape tribe of Indians of the Pocomoke, a fine horse for the Princess of the tribe, and it was from this gift and the custom of the Indians that "Ape's Hole" derived its name.
