Description	:	Atchison Globe~June 29, 1955 John W. Terry, 76, 312 North Fourth Street, died at 4 o’clock yesterday afternoon at the Atchison hospital where he was a patient nine weeks. Soon after he entered the hospital he underwent a major operation. Mr. Terry was a retired Atchison county farmer. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the Stanton chapel, the Rev. He married Miss Nina Liggatt at Muscotah March 20, 1906. Mr. Terry was a farmer in the Atchison and Muscotah communities many years. He was member of the Methodist church of Atchison. A devoted husband and father, Mr. Terry was esteemed by all who knew him. Surviving are his wife of the home; a daughter, Mrs. Richard Carpenter, Cummings; two sons, LaVern Terry, Atchison, and Orville Terry, Muscotah; three brothers, Claude Terry, Muscotah, Virgil Terry, Oregon, Ill., and Arthur Terry, Dallas; three sisters, Mrs. Nell Talbert, Muscotah, Mrs. Lizzie Burt, San Sydro, Calif., and Miss Daise Terry, New York City; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
