Description	:	John W York was the first born of five children born to Andrew Jackson York and his wife Margaret Jane Cox. John joined a North Carolina Militia Group and traveled into parts of western North Carolina and Tennessee to fight in the Indian Wars. John never married and is believed to have met his early death at age 26 in an unknown Indian battle while on deployment. John is buried in his grandfathers private York Family Cemetery.
