Mr. Hensell was born in LaPorte County on May 6, 1917, to Arthur and Mamie Hensell. He married Phyllis Clark of rural St Joseph County on Oct. 15, 1938, who survives. Mr. Hensell was born in LaPorte County on May 6, 1917, to Arthur and Mamie Hensell. He married Phyllis Clark of rural St Joseph County on Oct. 15, 1938, who survives. Also surviving are their three sons, Arthur (Diana) Hensell, and Philip Hensell both of South Bend. Clark (Mary) Hensell of New Carlisle: 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Mr. Hensell's parents, sister Ruth Meyers Thon, and brother Harold Hensell, preceded him in death. He was a member of the Community church in New Carlisle, Moose Lodge #58, South Bend, The United Brotherhood of Carpenters and a charter member of the New Carlisle Conservation Club. He was a former member of the Business Men's Bowling League in Cew Carlisle. Mr Hensell retired in 1981 from Verkler Construction Company of South Bend as General Superintendent after 40 years of service. He was a former deacon in the Community Church and a Boy Scout leader in the 1950s. He enjoyed construction work and farming. He farmed the fields south of Heston in La Porte County in the 1930's and 40's, and fields south of Ben Street in New Carlisle in the 1950's Funeral arrangements will be provided by Kaniewski Funeral Hone in New Carlisle, Ind. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. EST today, Dec. 14, one hour prior to the service, to be held at the funeral home Dec, 15, 2001.
