He was born Sept. 25, 1830 and was there fore 87 years, 5 months and 25 days of age at time of his death. He was married to Rebecca Painter Sept. 25, 1860 and to this union five children were born and all were present at the funeral services except one son, R. A. Bowman of Ponca City, Okla. The children are Mrs. Annie E. Trout , of Okla.; Mrs. Mary J. McNeely, of Lentner, Mo.; Mrs. Emily C. Harris and John W. of Maud, Mo.; and Robert Andrew of Ponca City, Okla. The deceased made a profession of faith in Christ in early life under the preaching of Elder J. M. Lillard and united with Dover Baptist Church in Lewis Co., Mo. When removed to Monroe County on a farm near Maud in the year 1881 he moved his membership to the Oak Ridge Baptist Church and throughout the years has been a faithful and devoted member. He leaves besides his wife and five children, 20 grandchildren, 9 great grand-children and one sister besides many relatives and friends to mourn their loss. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at three o'clock at the Oak Ridge Church conducted by Rev. Humphrey, of Shelbyville. The Shelby County Herald Shelbyville, Missouri
