Description	:	John Wesley Hansen, one of nine children, was born to Nels and Mary Gemmer Hansen, Aug. 6, 1915, on a farm near Ong, Neb. Raised on the family farm, he attended country school near Ong and graduated from Ong High School. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church, Ong. Read More	John Wesley Hansen, one of nine children, was born to Nels and Mary Gemmer Hansen, Aug. 6, 1915, on a farm near Ong, Neb. Raised on the family farm, he attended country school near Ong and graduated from Ong High School. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church, Ong. Aug. 13, 1944, he was married to Janet Malsbury in Mankato. This union was blessed with five children. They lived and farmed west of Superior. He was a past member of the Elks and Eagles Lodges, both of Superior, and a past member of the Danish Brotherhood. Farming was his life and working with his livestock and agriculture was important to him. Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers, Carl and Harry; sister, Dorothea Wilton; and two infant brothers. He is survived by his wife, Janet; five children, Donn of North Platte, Mrs. Bob Schmidt (Sharon) of Grand Island, Dwight of Cedar Falls, Iowa; Mrs. Don Jennings (Wanda) of Omaha and Debra Jennings of Loveland, Colo.; six grandchildren, Brian Hansen, Sheila Hansen, James Hansen, Jason Jennings and John Schmidt; sister, Una Taylor, Nebraska City; two brothers, Nels Hansen of Belmont, Calif., and Louise Hansen of Edgar; and many other relatives. He died Tuesday, May 14, while a patient in Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital, Hastings, at the age of 75 years, 9 months and 8 days. The funeral was Friday at 2 p.m., from the Megrue-Price Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor David Loeschen officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery. Source: Superior Express, May 23, 1991.
