Description	:	John Willis Davenport, son of William H. and Sarah Jane Davenport, was born in Bartlett, Iowa January 5, 1873 and departed this life February 26, 1948 at the age of 75 ears, 1 month and 21 days. He came to Kansas with his parents when he was four years old. On January 1, 1896 he was united in marriage to Margret Frances Graham and to this union was born eight sons and two daughters. Read More	John Willis Davenport, son of William H. and Sarah Jane Davenport, was born in Bartlett, Iowa January 5, 1873 and departed this life February 26, 1948 at the age of 75 ears, 1 month and 21 days. He came to Kansas with his parents when he was four years old. On January 1, 1896 he was united in marriage to Margret Frances Graham and to this union was born eight sons and two daughters. Two sons preceded him in death in infancy. He confessed his faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and became a member of the Church of Christ at Chester in his early boyhood and remained a faithful member as long as his health permitted. Mr. Davenport was a farmer most of his life, living in Kansas and Nebraska. He left the farm in the spring of 1946 because of ill health and moved to Chester where he resided until his death. He leaves to morn (sic) his loss, his wife and two daughters, Ruth Cossaart, Narka, Kansas, Mary Livingston, Hastings, Nebraska, and six sons, James of Los Angeles, Homer, Kuna, Idaho, Willis, Mahaska, Kansas, George and Edgar of San Rafael, Calif., and Leslie of Peterson, New Jersey. Also twelve grandchildren and six great grandchildren, three brothers, two sisters and a host of relatives and friends. The funeral was held 2:30 Sunday in the Christian Church.
