Description	:	My 3rd great grandfather, Jonas Shumaker, was the fourth of ten children born to his parents, Jonas Shumaker, Sr., and Elizabeth Hohenschild. When Jonas was about fourteen years old, his family moved to Crawford County, Ohio. In 1847, Jonas Jr. married Esther Spiegel in Crawford County. They had ten children: five sons and five daughters. By 1860, the family moved to Napoleon Township in Henry County, Ohio, where Jonas and Esther lived out their lives. Jonas was a farmer, and served on the Board of Education in Henry County, Ohio. He lived to the age of 80.
