On Jan. 1st 1904, Mr. Harris fell and broke his hip and has been bedfast ever since, but he bore his sufferings patiently and looked forward cheerfully to he time when he would be freed from his pains. He is survived by his wife who is 80 years old also by a number of children, who have been a great consolation and aid to. him by ministering faithfully to his wants. We had the pleasure of a visit with Mr. Harris last summer and he promised to give, us facts for an interesting write-up or the early days, in this county, but unfortunately we were unable to visit him again before this. He was born in this county and remembered well the pioneer days. He enlisted in the Confederate army in the Civil war under General Price, while his brother Stephen Harris, of near Miami, is a veteran of the war on the union side. Funeral services were held Friday February 18th, at the Harris family cemetery and were largely attended. We regret, that we are unable to give a more complete history of Mr, Harris' life but it was long and useful one, and his family has he community's sympathy in his death.
