Laura) Katherine (Sylvester) Shaw of River Falls, WI and later to Myrtle Violet (Hoaglun) Shaw of Henriette, Pine County, MN. He was also instrumental in founding the local combined public/school library system where he served as its first board chairman. With his wife Laura and other local citizens he also chartered the Pine River chapter of the Order of The Eastern Star. In addition to a daughter Georgia as mentioned in the obituary below he also had a son, Paul Maxon Shaw of Aitkin County, MN by his first wife Lura/Laura. The following is Mr. Shaw's obituary from the Yellow Springs News, 10/26/1966: Funeral services were conducted Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the Jackson, Lytle and Coffman Funeral Home, Springfield, for J. Emerson Shaw, 85. Burial was in Glen Forest Cemetery. Mr. Shaw was born near Yellow Springs [OH] Feb. 6, 1881, a son of Findley and Anna Patton Shaw. Before retiring in 1950 (sic) he was a school superintendent in Minnesota. He was a graduate of Cedarville College. Survivors include his widow, Violet [but see note above], a daughter, three brothers, including John Shaw and Raymond Shaw, and two sisters, Miss Nettie Shaw and Miss Ruth Shaw, all of Tanyard Road. In addition to the siblings listed below, J. Emerson's other sibling is "Jeanete" (Jeanette/Jeannette?) F.
