Description	:	Joseph Aloice Beckius, one of seven children born to Nicholas Peter and Eva Mary (Schrader) Beckius on a farm near Stapleton, Nebraska, on October 12, 1904, and passed away June 8, 1989, in the Brodstone Memorial Nuckolls County Hospital in Superior, Nebraska, at the age of 84 years, 7 months and 26 days. Read More	Joseph Aloice Beckius, one of seven children born to Nicholas Peter and Eva Mary (Schrader) Beckius on a farm near Stapleton, Nebraska, on October 12, 1904, and passed away June 8, 1989, in the Brodstone Memorial Nuckolls County Hospital in Superior, Nebraska, at the age of 84 years, 7 months and 26 days. He was educated in the Stapleton Schools. On December 15, 1928, in Mankato, Kansas, he was united in marriage to Goldie "Fern" Norwood. This union was blessed with four children. Joe was a charter member of the Eagles Lodge #3101 of Superior. He had retired from the City of Superior Street Department in 1975, after having been employed for over 20 years. He enjoyed his work with the Department and had made many friends during his employment. He spent many hours playing cards at the Senior Citizen's Center and the Smoke House. He enjoyed working in the yard, watching television and especially watching the sporting events. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son Donald; a brother Mark; and two sisters, Margaret McCormick and Gertrude Schneider. He is survived by his loving and faithful wife Fern; two sons, Joseph Dean Beckius and his wife Hettie of Hayward, California, and Richard Allen Beckius of Omaha, Nebraska; one daughter, Evelyn and her husband Burt Warne of Mankato, Kansas; one brother, John L. Beckius of North Platte, Nebraska; two sisters, Evelyn Hoban of Minden, Nebraska, and Agnes Rozmiarek of Stapleton, Nebraska; six grandchildren, six great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services were held Monday, June 12, 1989, at 10:30 a.m. from the Megrue-Price Funeral Home Chapel in Superior, Nebraska, with Rev. Vernon Snider officiating. Music was provided by soloist Carol Shambaugh singing selections of "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Beautiful Isle of Somehwere (sic)" with Carlita Price as organist and accompanist. Casketbearers were Darold Hiatt, Larry Juergens, Roger Hiner, Barney Crook, Steve Henderson and Jim Fenimore. Honorary pallbearers were Merle Roland, Gene Breuning, Dean Fenimore, Ed Groves, Milo Way and Merle Hayes. Burial was in the Nelson Cemetery near Nelson, Nebraska.
