Description	:	Joseph Calvin Ruby, 70, of Tipp City and formerly of Eaton, died unexpectedly Saturday, Dec. 22, in Vandalia. Born June 16, 1931, in Eaton, he was the son of the late Edward and Mary Mabel (Wolfe) Ruby. He served in the U.S. Army, and retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1972 with a Bronze Star after 22 years of service during the Korean War and Vietnam. Ruby of Arizona and Calvin C. Ruby of Germantown; a daughter, Shirley Ann Ruby of Fairborn; a brother, Jim Ruby of Richmond, Ind.; two sisters, Ann Ayers of Richmond, Ind., and Ailene Dillman of Vandalia; grandchildren, Jessica Erin Ruby and Dane Joseph Ruby; nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28, at Barnes Funeral Home-Eaton Chapel, 220 E. Main St., with the Rev. Lowell T. Spencer officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Preble County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from noon-1 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
