Description	:	Joseph C. Jones, 25, of 304 Minneopia, recently elected to the Board of Park Commissioners, was dead on arrival at Mahaska County Hospital in Oskaloosa shortly after 1 p.m. Friday. Death attributed to a heart attack. He had a heart condition for many years. He was a second semester Junior at William Penn College in Oskaloosa and had completed final exams this week. Mr. Jones worked for the Linden Co., on South Milner for the past 2 1/2 years while attending college. He was a 1958 graduate of Ottumwa High School and had been active in all phases of local baseball, beginning with Little League, Babe Ruth, and Legion Ball. In 1963 and '64 he had couched the Legion Bees. The son of Raymond H. and Hallabell Huddleston Jones, he was born in Ottumwa, Oct. 19, 1940. He had lived here all of his life and was a member of First Pentecostal Assembly of God Church. His marriage to Nancy J. Chapin took place Oct. 7, 1961 in Ottumwa. She survives. Surviving are his mother Mrs. Hallabell Jones of Ottumwa; two sisters, Mrs. Rae McConnell of Clinton and Vicki Lee Jones of Ottumwa; a step-grandmother, Sylvia Huddleston of Ottumwa; and several nephews and nieces. Preceding him in death was his father, April 11, 1963. The service will be Monday at 1:30 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Chapel in charge of the Rev. John Walker of First Assembly of God Church.
