Description	:	Mr. Joseph G. Gregson Joe Gregson, 93, went home to his eternal Father on Saturday November 19, 2011 at Moses Cone Hospital. He was a loving husband, wonderful father and will be missed greatly by his family. A graveside service will be held at Fairview Cemetery in Liberty, NC on Wednesday, November 23 at 11:00 a.m. One of Joe's former pastors, Bryan Fox will conduct the service. He was a loving husband, wonderful father and will be missed greatly by his family. Joe was born in Liberty on February 3, 1918 to Barney and Mamie Gregson. Joe married Alma Caudill in 1941 and they lived in Liberty for over five decades. In that time they raised their three daughters and enjoyed many special times with friends and family in their hometown. After attending college at Wake Forest Joe joined his father's furniture manufacturing company, Gregson Manufacturing in Liberty, where he worked until his retirement. He was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church in Liberty and active in the United Methodist Men. He was also a member of the Liberty Lions Club for a number of years and a volunteer firefighter. His love for the game of golf was evident to all who knew him. Over the years he played as often as he could at Sedgefield, Burlington, High Meadows and was a lifetime member at Forest Oaks. He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years Alma, his parents, brother Dwight Gregson and sister, Anna Lee Baldwin. He is survived by his three daughters, Doris Miller, (husband Glenn) of Mocksville, NC; Nancy Wall and Carol Fallon of Greensboro; his seven grandchildren; his 11 great grandchildren and his faithful dog, Rusty. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro, 2500 Summit Ave., Greensboro, NC 27405; First United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 220, Liberty, NC 27298 or a charity of your choice.
