Read More	Glasco Sun, March 17, 1932, page 6: JOSEPH BEERS DIES (at the top of the article was a reprint of the obit from the Concordia Daily Blade, followed by the following obit) Joseph Hays Beers was born near Glasco, Kansas, November 9, 1876 and passed away at Concordia, Kansas March 10, 1932 at the age of 55 years, 3 months and 1 day. He grew to manhood on the farm where he was born, some five miles north of Glasco. On March 22, 1905 he was married to Miss Pearl Williams, and to this union were born four children. The family lived in the vicinity of Glasco until 1929 when they moved to Nebraska. After one years residence there the family moved to Concordia, Kansas. Since returning from Nebraska Mr. Beers has been in failing health, and now he has answered the summons to depart this life for the spirit world. He leaves to mourn his passing, the wife and companion of his youth, three children, Malvina Goodell of Jamestown, Kansas; Melvin and Beulah at home. The oldest son Harold preceded the father in an untimely death as the result of an accident when eight years of age. He leaves also one grandchild, Tressa Jean Goodell. Besides these members of the immediate family, four brothers and three sisters survive: John Beers of Concordia, Kansas; Edward Beers of Colwell, Idaho; Ernest and Junius of Glasco, Kansas; Mrs. Hattie Doty, Greely, Colorado; Mrs. Clara Martin, of Paradise, Kansas; Mrs. Alice Cook, of Ames, Kansas. One brother, Will, and one sister, Mrs. Anna Doty, are deceased. Thus another citizen, earth-born and reared in the vicinity of Glasco will be seen no more among his fellows of the flesh. And another illustration of the frailties of the flesh, and another warning and call to those of us who still live to watch and pray lest we enter into temptation, and to be ready always, for at an hour when we think not the Son of Man Cometh. (next was a 4 stanza poem) The funeral service, in charge of Rev. Attree Smith, was held Saturday with a brief service in the home at Concordia, and the memorial sermon at the M.E. Church in Glasco. Interment was in the Glasco Cemetery. CARD OF THANKS We wish to thank the friends and others who were so kind during our recent sorrow. To the Rev. Attree Smith. Also the Pilcher Boys who sang.
