Gingrich Joseph Henry Gingrich was born April 14, 1879, in Henry county (sic) Illinois, and departed this life at the Methodist hospital (sic) in Omaha, March 15, 1946. He came with his parents to Nebraska in early childhood. He was united in marriage to Ida A. Trobough, April 3, 1907. To this union were born two children, LeVern Gingrich of Omaha, Nebraska, and Verda Gingrich an instructor in the schools at Crete Nebraska. The first two years of married life were spent in Crete, Nebraska, where he was an employe (sic) of the Fairmont Creamery. The rest of his life was spent on the farm four miles west of Edgar, Nebraska. He leaves to mourn his loss, his wife, two children, two grandchildren and many other close relatives and friends. In his scheme of life, Joe recognized his home and family as his first interest. To them he gave the most considerate care, council and attention, offering every comfort, aid and opportunity that was in his power to give. To those who knew him down through the years, these words commemorate a man whose unusual standards of conduct were more glowing and magnificent than our words can express. A charming circle broken, and a dear face will be missed. One sweet welcomed voice hushed; no father to meet us at the door, and the one we loved is missed, and in the home his place unfilled is desolate. But the home beyond, where he has gone, the home where separation cannot be, is a beautiful home in Heaven. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon, March 20, 1946, in the Edgar Methodist church (sic) with Rev. S. W. Longacre, pastor of the church, and Rev. S. G. Rasmussen of DeWitt in charge. A quartette, Ben Johnson, Clarence Iliff, Mrs. Pearl Grimes and Mrs. Bessie Patton sang "Beautiful Garden," "In the Garden" and "The Old Rugged Cross." Mrs. Ruth Killion was at the piano. Pallbearers were: Gordon Sheets, Joe Zikmund, Myrl Cook, Carl Sarnes, Carl Trobough and Vern Watson. Interment was made in the Fairfield cemetery (sic). Contributor: Jan Plambeck (46975511)
