Bruno, May 4 - Funeral services for Joseph Husak, respected pioneer resident of Bruno locality, were held Monday morning, at 9 o'clock from the home to St. Anthony's church, Rev. F. J. Kopecky chanting the requiem mass and conducting the burial rites. The pallbearers were John E. Beckius, William Kozisek, Edward L. Koza, William Kozisek, Sr., James Ptacek and Fritz Husak. Burial was in St. Anthony's Catholic cemetery. Mr. Husak's death was sudden and unexpected. He had been ill for two weeks and confined to his home. He expired from heart failure when temporarily alone. He had gotten up and dressed a short time before he was left alone and was found dead ten minutes later, lying across his bed. Joseph Husak was born in Dubiny, Moravia, in Czechoslovakia, March 22, 1856, and was 81 years, one month and eight days of age at the time of his death. He came to the United States, and Butler county with his parents in 1870, since which time he had lived in the same vicinity. Mr. Husak was united in marriage to Antonia Koza in July, 1879, at the Catholic church at Abie. To them were born two sons, Frank and Edward Husak of David City, and one daughter, Mrs. Paul Kriz who passed away March 12, 1909, leaving an infant daughter, Antoinette. Mr. and Mrs. Husak reared their grand daughter from babyhood until her marriage to Homer Maxson some years ago. Mr. Husak is survived by his aged wife, two sons, six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Mr. and Mrs. Husak retired from farm life 30 years ago, moved to Bruno where they had since made their home. He was a pleasant, dependable man, devoted to his children. He enjoyed life in his quiet, cheerful way and was always a good friend and neighbor and will be greatly missed. Among those from a distance in attendance at the funeral were Mrs. Homer Maxson and son, of Raymond, Frank Lukas of Weston, Joseph L. Semin of Ulysses, Mr. and Mrs. William Kozisek and J. E. Beckius of Bellwood and Miss Elsie Husak of Valparaiso.
