HORKY DIES AT ANGUS Joseph J. Horky died Wednesday, September 16, at 3:15 a.m. at his home in Angus at the age of 62 years, 9 months and 18 days. Deceased was born in Czecho-Slovakia November 28, 1868. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at the home conducted by Rev Hewett of McCool, Nebraska. Interment was made in the Edgar cemetery (sic). Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at the home, conducted by the Hewitt of McCool, Nebraska. Horky was born at Famlie, Czecho-Slovakia, November 28, 1868, and passed away at his home in Angus, September 16, 1931, at the age of 62 years, 9 months and 18 days. He came to America at the age of seven years with his parents and settled on a farm near Farwell, Nebr. He stayed with his parents to help them till the soil until at the age of 24 years when he married Miss Katherine Smeall (sic) of Farwell, Nebr. His parents arranged for a farm for he and his wife to live on where they remained for many years. Later he disposed of the farm to embark into business at Farwell. In the year 1912 he and his family moved to Angus where he resided until his death. To this union were born six children, two of whom preceded him in death in their infancy. He accepted Christ in the Catholic church at Farwell, Nebraska. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife, two daughters, Mrs. A.L. DilIon of Boswick (sic), Nebr., and Mrs. O.R. Rhoads of Edgar, Nebr.; and two sons, John of Angus, and Edward of Edgar, and three grandchildren, also five brothers, John and James of Farwell, Nebr.; Anton and Lewis of Omaha, and Vincent of Butte, Nebr., and one sister, Mrs. John Dobry of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, besides a host of friends. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at the home in Angus, conducted by Rev Hewett of McCool. Interment was made in the Edgar cemetery (sic).
