Description	:	Katherine Smeal was born at Dodge, Nebraska, March 24, 1874. In 1889 the family moved to Farwell. Here she was married to Joseph Horky in February 1893. To this union 3 daughters and 3 sons were born. In February 1912 the family moved to Angus, Nebraska and after the death of her husband she continued to live there until 1953. In the fall of 1960 Mrs. Horky came to the Good Samaritan Village and was always busy either indoors or out. The last several weeks she was a patient in the Village Infirmary and then in the Mary Lanning Hospital... Read More	Katherine Smeal was born at Dodge, Nebraska, March 24, 1874. In 1889 the family moved to Farwell. Here she was married to Joseph Horky in February 1893. To this union 3 daughters and 3 sons were born. In February 1912 the family moved to Angus, Nebraska and after the death of her husband she continued to live there until 1953. In the fall of 1960 Mrs. Horky came to the Good Samaritan Village and was always busy either indoors or out. The last several weeks she was a patient in the Village Infirmary and then in the Mary Lanning Hospital where she passed away December 9, 1964 at the age of 90 years, 8 months and 15 days. She was preceded in death by her husband, one daughter and two sons, two brothers and one sister. Surviving are two daughters and one son: Mrs. Mary Dillon of Good Samaritan Village, Mrs. Frances Rhoads of Torrington, Wyoming, and Edward of Chelan, Washington, also 7 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, also one sister Mrs. Mary Taylor of California. Services were held at the Urbaurer Funeral Home of Edgar and were conducted by Rev. William Goldbeck of the Good Samaritan Village, Hastings, Nebraska.
