Joseph was the son of the late Mr and Mrs Anton Wiedemeyer and was born at Entrup, near Nieheim, Wesphalia, Germany March 16, 1878. He came to American with his parents when a child of 6 years of age. The family located in Carroll county on the old home place, a mile east of Carroll and just north of the Lincoln highway. As he grew to young manhood he learned the trade of masonry which he followed until the time of his death. For a number of years he has been living in Omaha. He married 17 years ago to Eva Lawless Sharp, who survived him. He is also survived by two brothers: W.I. and Leo Wiedemeyer and three sisters: Mrs Joseph Kanne, Mrs Anton Kanne, and Miss Josephine Wiedemeyer. His mother died June 10, 1901, one brother, Anton, died seven years ago; his brother, John, died in May, 1922, his father died in May, 1923, and his sister, Minnie, died in July of this year. His remains were brought to Carroll and arrived here Tuesday morning at 10:20 o'clock. They were taken to the family home on North Clark street and were accompanied to Carroll by his wife and sister, Josephine, who was with him during his last illness. Mrs. Hazel Green, a niece of Mrs. Wiedemeyer, arrived from Omaha in time to attend the funeral, which was held this morning at the S.S. Peter and Paul church at 9 o'clock. He was laid to rest in the family lot in the Catholic cemetery.
