Description	:	Joseph M. Krogmeier, 81, of Fort Madison, IA, passed away on Friday, April 30, 2010 at the Ft. Madison Health Center. He was born on January 30, 1929 in Ft. Madison to George and Katherine Hulenhake Krogmeier. On April 25, 1950 Joseph married Hilda K. Meierotto in Houghton, IA. In his early years Joe was a farmer then was a correctional officer at ISP, retiring as a Captain after 37 years of service. Joseph was a member of Sacred Heart Church and was a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus. Survivors include his wife, Hilda Krogmeier of Ft. Madison; one son, Michael Krogmeier of Ft. Madison; one brother, Robert (Helen) Krogmeier of Burlington; two sisters, Irene Senf of Montrose and Joan Krogmeier of Ft. Madison and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister. The Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 6th at Sacred Heart Church with Rev. Mark P. Spring officiating. The family will meet with friends following the mass at Rolling Hall where a luncheon will be served. Inurnment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery at a later date. Per his wishes his body has been cremated. A memorial has been established for the Parkinson's Association. King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
