When ten years old (1728), he was taken by his parents to Windham, CT, where he thereafter resided. He was a Colonial Soldier in 1761, from April 1 to Dec 4, under Capt John Spaulding, 1st Rgt, General Lyman. He was a farmer, having acquired a part of his father's farm, with the house and barn. He was elected Tithingman 1759-1762, 1765; Packer of Meat, 1753-1754, 1758-1767, or 12 years, and Packer of Tobacco, 1763-1764. When he and his wife died, has not been found, but a deed shows that his decease was before 22 May 1779. His son, Joel had the farm, the other heirs conveying their rights by deed in 1779 and the following years. He and his wife were members of the Scotland Society Church. He married 29 Oct 1745, Phebe, daughter of Jacob and Phebe (Thurston) Lillie; born 4 Jan 1724/1725. Children were born at Scotland Society, Windham: 1) Asenath, b 22 Feb 1746; married 10 Nov 1774, Dr William Robinson; resided at Windham. Children: 1-Phebe, b 17 Jul 1776; 2-Martha, b 12 Aug 1780; 3-William, b 20 Jun 1783. 2) Phebe, b 14 Apr 1748; married 22 May 1770, Josiah, son of Eliezer and Mary (Lillie) Palmer, b 16 Feb 1744/1745. Children b at Windham: 1-Erastus, b 29 Jul 1772; 2-Andrew, b 19 Oct 1774; 3-Phebe, b 15 Jan 1777; 4-Elias, b 7 Jul 1780 3) Jacob, b 5 Oct 1750. A Revolutionary War Soldier under Capt Wm Warmer; marched on the Lexington Alarm 19 Apr 1775. He probably died unmarried soon after. After his father's death, the several children quit claimed their rights to his estate, but no released is found from Jacob. In a deed of 18 Apr 1781, his sister, Mrs Robinson, calls her share a 1/6 interest, and refers to her brother Dan's interest.
