Description	:	Joseph Marion Darr was born at Knoxville, Knox County, Ohio on July 7, 1851 and died at his home near Creighton, Nebr., April 21, 1922 at the age of 70 years, 9 months and 14 days. In early boyhood his parents moved to Victor, Iowa, where he grew to young manhood. He was educated in the State University of Iowa and spent much of his life in educational work, having taught in the state reformatory of Iowa and also Wisconsin. He was married in 1883 to Sarah L. In early boyhood his parents moved to Victor, Iowa, where he grew to young manhood. He was educated in the State University of Iowa and spent much of his life in educational work, having taught in the state reformatory of Iowa and also Wisconsin. He was married in 1883 to Sarah L. Stocker and moved to Saunders Co., Nebraska, where he and his wife took up the educational work of the Valparaiso school, he as principal of the school and his wife, a member of the faculty. It was thru his labors and influence that the school at Valparaiso was placed upon an efficient basis in educational work. About 20 years ago he gave up his profession and moved to a farm in the community in which he has lived ever since and in which after a number of years of ill health, he laid down his burdens and has gone to that last sleep. He is the last of his immediate family, his brother having died just a year ago this month. He is survived by his wife and two sons, W.B. and B.O. Darr and a host of friends and neighbors. The funeral was held from the Methodist church Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Farner and interment made in the Creighton cemetery.
