Anderson preaching the sermon, brought a comforting message to relatives and friends who had assembled for the final tribute. Casket carriers were Ben Effle, Walter Prischman, Henry Rokahr, Perry Adams, Roy Morrill and Harold Tenney. Interment was in Greenwood cemetery. Sarah Louise Stocker was born at Marengo, Iowa on March 4, 1860 and died on January 1, 1942 at the age of 81 years, 9 months and 28 days. She had been ill health for several months. She was married to Joseph Darr on November 7, 1883 and moved to Valparaiso, Nebr. Here their two sons were born. In 1901 they moved to Knox county, locating on a farm ten miles west of Creighton. They lived in this vicinity until the death of her husband in 1922. She then moved to the home of her son where she resided until 1926 when she was united in marriage to Marshall T. Jaquith of Clifton, Colorado. Following the death of Mr. Jaquith in 1930, she returned to her home near Venus, where she lived until the time of her death. She was united with the Episcopal church at an early age and continued in this faith throughout her life time. She was also preceded in death by one son, Walter B. Darr in March, 1940. Surviving are one son, Baron Darr of Venus, one sister, Mrs. Belle Buffington, Fremont and nine grandchildren and numerous other relatives. Her passing is also mourned by friends and acquaintances she accumulated during her years of residence in this section.
