Read More	The following provided by Find a Grave contributor "Cara": The River Press, Fort Benton, Mont., 28 Oct 1942 Joseph McCoun Passes Away Joseph McCoun of Loma, passed away at the St. Clare hospital in this city at 6:30 p.m. last Wednesday evening, Oct. 21, following an illness extending over the past six years. Mr. McCoun had been a resident of Chouteau county for the past 30 years, coming here in 1912 and homesteading in the Loma section, where he has continuously lived and where he engaged in farming until his retirement on account of ill health. He was well known and highly respected by all who knew him. Joseph McCoun was born at Cherokee, Iowa, on May 4, 1869, where he spent many years. He was united in marriage to Lillian Mariah Harmon in 1891, and to this union one son, C. R. McCoun, was born. The wife passed away in 1939. The family spent some time in Nebraska before coming to Montana in 1912. Besides the son, he is survived by four brothers, Aron of Calif., William of Yankton, S.D., Isaac of Pierre, S. D.; and Dodson of Ohio; and one sister, Mrs. John Good of Sioux City, Iowa. Funeral services were held from the Louther chapel Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by the Rev. H. Gravenor, pastor of the Methodist church. Interment was made in Riverside cemetery.
