Description	:	Joseph Lander Dies At Age 92 Joseph N. Lander, 92, longtime Marshall County farmer, died Wednesday evening at Grandview Heights Nursing Home, where he had been a patient since July, 1976. Prior to that he had lived for eight years at Westwood Nursing Home. Services will be at the Estel-Perrin Chapel at 11 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Francis Ross, pastor of the First Friends Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Marietta Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Hartland Friends Church. Mr. Lander was born Nov. 9, 1885, near Jonkoping, Sweden, the son of C. M. and Charlotte Lander. At the age of three, he came with his family to Marshalltown and received his education in the Marshalltown schools, when he was 15 the family moved to a farm on Route 3. On Feb. 19, 1913, he was married to Emma Johnson, and they farmed until retiring to Marshalltown in 1948. Mrs. Lander died on Feb. 5 1968. Mr. Lander was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church. Survivors include one son and three daughters; Helen (Mrs. Elmer) Geocke, Howard Lander and Irene (Mrs. Ben) Packer, all of Route 3, and Dorothy (Mrs. Rodney) Freiboth, Route 2. There are 16 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death, besides his wife, by three brothers, Charles, Gust and Frank Lander, and a sister, Hanna Watson.
