Description	:	Joseph N. Withee DIED - Of consumption at his home, 3 miles southeast of Hurley, South Dakota on Sunday, April 15th, 1894. Joseph N. Withee, age 47 years, 1 month and 1 day. The deceased was born in Norridgework, Somerset County, Maine, where he resided until 1869 when he came west as far as Wisconsin. In 1875 he came to Dakota, and in the fall of that year was married to Miss Cora V. Nesbit. Withee DIED - Of consumption at his home, 3 miles southeast of Hurley, South Dakota on Sunday, April 15th, 1894. Joseph N. Withee, age 47 years, 1 month and 1 day. The deceased was born in Norridgework, Somerset County, Maine, where he resided until 1869 when he came west as far as Wisconsin. In 1875 he came to Dakota, and in the fall of that year was married to Miss Cora V. Nesbit. Early in the spring of 1876 he went to the Black Hills and was one of the first to visit that section of Dakota. Returning in the fall of the same year he settled near Yankton and engaged in farming. In the spring of 1889 he moved his family to Turner County, where he has since resided. He was known as an upright citizen. Besides a wife and six children, he leaves a large circle of friends to mourn his death. The funeral services were held at his late home, conducted by the Reverend F. H. Newton, interment being made in Hurler cemetery. NOTE: Unverified source mentions Joseph's middle name was Nesbitt.
